This entire square block is under utilized. It would be a great locale for some more dining options. The vacancy and the run down appearance of the stores and buildings is just an eye sore.

Wonderful book (& gift) store with helpful staff with great recommendations. They also have a great room in the back devoted to children with a cool train around the room. An added bonus is that they have a frequent buyer card.

Thanks for deleting comments that you don't agree with. Cross town access is a huge problem. It causes me to go to Glenview to spend money rather than sit at railroad crossings in Northbrook. Delete this comment again and incur my wrath!

This would be a great area to build mini mall. With the park across the street I would think bringing a toy store, smaller kids clothing store, kid friendly food outlets would make it an ideal location. Parking once and being able to walk to a variety of places is always helpful to mothers.

Would love another Walgreens or CVS on this corner. I think the new corner design look attractive and it could get this corner buzzing with some smaller shops. There is only a Potbellies and Starbucks here. Simply add a Jamba Juice, Panera, Bakery, Drive Thru.. anything else worth walking to would be great. I love living here but its very dry compared to West Northbrook.

Our Farmers' Market should be here or some similar central, downtown area of Northbrook (maybe in the St. Norbert's parking lot). The village needs to expand on the downtown area as being the heart of the community, not let these types of activities fall to other random spots. People hitting farmers' markets can visit our STORES then.

Would love to see some sort of family dining option on this corner that sides the Village Green. Large garage type opening doors with a patio to sit across from the park would be a great idea for Summer. Think Peace pizza in the city, with a family friendly vibe.

This is a great location to bring business into. Take care of an exisiting area before building new ones. Fill the vacant space. Great business already there - just need to fill the old Blockbuster and Walgreens stores.

As others have said, MUCH improvement is needed here. Neglected and out-of-date. It seems like adding a business building in the center area of this parking lot would transform and revitalize. what if Starbucks had this new space and people could stroll around the perimeter?! This and a facelift for the existing building could be lovely.

The mom and pop shops of Book Bin and La de da are perfect, just need more of them. Not sure how you get attrach those type of stores. Some more fine dining like highwood would be great.

This is the real business center for those of us who live on the west side of Northbrook; not downtown.
BTW, whatever happened to Svigos across the street (supposedly in Northbrook)? I guess I'll have to go to his new Wheeling store, if and when that opens.
