Add stop at major employment destinations like Domino's Farms. WATS can conduct an analysis of Domino's Farms employees to determine where they are coming from. Could be used to justify a transit service.

Think expansions to Route 4 is a great idea. It gives people a taste of what expanded services would be like and more people are apt to vote positively.

How can we better engage EMU in the transit planning process? What is needed to attract more participation? Group thinks that if transit increases student convenience and attracts more students to the school, then EMU would be more interested. Also possibly helping EMU alleviate their parking problem. Currently, EMU has concerns with routing busses through campus may need help with their routing needs, or understanding their congestion issues.

The routes (even those within Ann Arbor) have apparently been prioritized on the basis of a central employment center (downtown and the University of Michigan). This follows the traditional wheel-and-spoke configuration that AATA has long used. But in order to make Ann Arbor truly independent of automobile travel for its citizens, we need better routes that take us to locations not in the downtown. For example, if one wishes to travel from the West side to the St. Joseph-Washtenaw Community College area, the time involved is almost prohibitive, given that it requires routing through downtown.

Center for Independent Living clients (youth and young adults with developmental disabilities) live in Chelsea/Dexter, and are going to the hospital, activities of daily living, etc. These people need to have accessible transportation, particularly if they have to go to a program after school. Schools don't always have a bus to send students to these after-school programs. Most use ARide which provides door-to-door transportation. Problem with ARide: Offers a flat rate if ride begins & ends within boundary area. However, Pittsfield is outside of this boundary, and the person has to call ahead of time. Not always able to call ahead. Are charged more if they have to go to WCC or U of M.

Very unsafe to cross at Washtenaw by Arborland. Need other options. Many people with mobility issues cannot cross. Road is too scary to change from the 22 to the 7 bus. Add a bus stop to the other side so I don't have to cross the street to access the other route. Most of the time I use the 22, 7 and 5 buses. But it's hard to transfer between the routes.

I work in various locations, and live by Ann Arbor Woods. I walk to Packard to get the bus. Too far away to walk to Washtenaw. I either have to get to work late or very early same going home. Times are very inconvenient. People would use the bus more if it were more convenient. Currently every half hour, but thats too inconvenient.

I was very concerned you did not offer service on the half hour during evenings. The 4a/b bus between A2 and Ypsilanti at 7:48 was packed like a sardine can. Just because students go home doesn't mean commerce stops between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor right? Also, stopping service so early on weekends is significant as many people need to get back and forth during these times as well. Finally, the loop around the hospital is excessive. Most people needing the ride can walk 3-4 minutes to an Observatory St. stop and save several minutes on this route. I also don't get why you're using the same bells and signals (for stop requests and location announcements) used in casinos. Are you promoting the casinos? Finally, in San Diego one can text message a number assigned to every stop in the system to learn when the next bus will be at that stop. This has been very helpful and I believe would be a great addition to your system. Thanks much! Thanks

I do not see why some people should have their personal transportation choices subsidized and others not, even if it is for public transportation. You will have to explain to me what is fair about that. Those using the bus should be paying basically the full cost of the bus system like I do with my automobile. Instead of increasing the tax millage on Ann Arbor taxpayers, you should be lowering it and requiring users of the system to pick up more costs of the system. AATA should not be in the business of using taxpayer or public money to provide large subsidies to special groups and interests for long indefinite time periods.

There should be bus service in the Dixboro area because this area is growing with people and will benefit from public transit. Maybe send a bus down Plymouth Rd to Plymouth and have stops a long the way. Plymouth Road can get really congested by Dixboro and M-153 Ford Rd. It will benefit Ann Arbor, Superior Township, Salem Township, and Plymouth because it will connect people to both cities and will benefit the local community!

Turning the #6 into a loop route makes little sense unless the loop goes somewhere more useful than W. Michigan Ave/Hewitt Rd. Neighbors, including seniors associated with the Senior Center, ride this route out to Meijer and back regularly; at the very least the route ought to go out that far. A larger loop that would go up Carpenter to Packard or even to Arborland would be a great addition. No senior citizen is going to be pleased with the idea of riding the loop route downtown and hanging out for any length of time at the Pearl St. bus station.
