Can the Cohutta Overlook be retrofitted to provide access for disabled people? I haven’t been there myself, but from info and pictures online, it looks like a good candidate for accessibility. The main hindrance appears to be a short staircase. I think it’s important to make the wilderness as accessible as possible when it doesn’t overly compromise the natural setting.

Several comments online say that the blazes for Emery Creek Trail are confusing and difficult to see. I would support clear, uniform blazing on this trail and throughout the rest of the forest.

Foothills Landscape (Recomendations) ––––––––––––––––––––––– Road to trail conversion of 90B road extending PInhoti trail Road to trail conversion “woods” road to Bear Creek Campground Add new parking lot off FS90 road at bottom of Pinhoti section 1 ••Add trail (utilizing old logging road where appropriate) up from proposed parking area at the bottom of Pinhole section 1 to double track of Bear Creek trail to complete a loop system. Add lower third cut through trail for shorter beginner friendly road. ••Add trail (utilizing old logging road where appropriate) up from game station on old Rocky Face area to near the Potato Patch intersetion. This will give better extended loop option for Bear Creek and Pinhoti Trail combination and additional route to top of Windy Gap descent for an even larger loop. ••(These two new trails will spread use of PInhoti and Bear Creek and reduce stress on existing trails.) Also – Tibbs and Milma, decomission OHV and convert to hike and bike access only. This will aleviate stress of OHV vehicles making way to private property and access and damage to Emory Creek trail.

This is a well thought out proposal. The Forest Team is reviewing it and will contact you with any questions that might need to be answered to incorporate it into the proposed action.
