Very unique restaurant constructed from an old grain mill. Inside has exposed beams and the old grain chutes. Owner has preserved the inner workings during construction. Beer is brewed on site and there is tasting room. Food is also very good.

Downtown Plainwell has a good selection of retail businesses, restaurants, banks, a jeweler, drugstore, and so forth. There are numerous areas to access view of the Kalamazoo River and the Millrace that passes the old Plainwell Paper Company which houses the Plainwell City Hall along with several businesses.

Fanny Pell Park in downtown Plainwell adjacent to the Plainwell City Hall. Nice place to relax by the Kalamazoo River.

Located north of downtown, where the Mill Race and Kalamazoo rivers meet. Fannie Pell Park is a one acre landscaped park located at the northern end of the Central Business District on Main Street. The park contains a gazebo (frequently used for weddings), picnic tables, canoe and kayak landing, and City Hall entrance.

Hicks Park located directly on the Kalamazoo River. Accessed via walkway from Plainwell City Hall under the M-89 bridge, and along side the river. Located downtown on West Bridge Street. Hicks Park is the oldest park within the city, dating back to 1903, and was named after Joseph Hicks, Plainwell’s first Mayor. This beautifully landscaped one acre park is located in the Central Business District, and offers accessible walkways with seating, picnic tables, grills, and a children’s playground.

I'd love to see this trail continue to the city of Allegan. Allegan is worker by hard to restore its existing city while growing and adding attractions. There is now zip lining and other things downtown in the works.
