Mixing 18-wheelers and bicycles where the 18-wheelers make a sharp right turn. That doesn't seem safe. Too bad there's no other cost-effective option.

Riding the gravel roads outside of Walla Walla and Milton-Freewater to the east towards the mountains. It would be nice to have some designated parking areas out there so that I know I'm not in some Farmer's way when I park out by the gravel roads thanks

Depping Road speed limit is 35 mph, however frequently we see speeders well in excess of that. We've tried working with county sheriff but they do not seem concerned about the dangers of this excessive speed. We daily see joggers, bycyclists, dog walkers and are concerned about their safety.

I see riders along this area. Would a trail offer protection from inattentive drivers?

Cottonwood road route
Comment from Scott N McCoon
I'm really surprised not to see more comments concerning Cottonwood Road and the adjacent roads to the South. I see people out there all the time and riding along the narrow shoulder on Cottonwood Road. I love riding out there but a wider shoulder would be nice in some areas thank you

Comment from Glen Mendel
I am aware that this is a popular biking route, however, this road is narrow, winding, hilly and gravel so it is very unsafe for bicycling and vehicles at the same time. If this route is selected it must be widened and where possible separate vehicles from bicycles.

Some parts of the road are narrow and biking is not always the safest sharing the road with drivers. It would be nice if the road was widened and paved after the Oregon / Washington border. I love biking past camp Kawanas but hate all the dust.

If "realign" means "straighten", please don't. The turns make this road more interesting. If the road were miles and miles of straight stretch, it'd be like I-84 in Morrow County. Widening the existing road sounds good, especially in corners.

This road is popular among motorcyclists. If by "realign" you mean "straighten", please reconsider. I fully support widening the road to support bicycle lanes, particularly on curves.
